Figure 4-2 shows a schematic drawing of the route. The line is composed of a double track section (approximately 58%) and a single track section (approximately 42%), is 3.27 km in length, and possesses a track gauge of 1,065 mm. The line consists of a section for joint use with roads and a section for exclusive train use (approximately 46%).
In calculating the amount of investment, the same preconditions (type of track, stations, power works method, rolling stock, etc.) as later stated for the alternative plan in Chapter 5 were assumed, however, as a means of ensuring safety on the single track section of line, a signal system linked to a train detection device was assumed.
Also, the rolling stock depot was set in the same location as in the alternative plan but at a slightly reduced scale.
The estimated breakdown of the investment is shown in Table 4-2.
